Former teen pop star Heather Wells is out shopping for jeans (frustratedly I might add), when her boss, Rachel, calls her and tells her that there has been a death in the building of the dorm- I mean residence hall- that Heather now works in. Apparently, the police found the dead girl at the bottom of the elevator shaft. They are ready to rule the death out as being an accident- they claim that the girl died elevator surfing. But Heather knows from experience that girls do not elevator surf! Heather has her suspicions that in fact, this was not a drunken accident, but a murder. Then, when another girl dies in the residence hall, Heather is sure that her hunch is true. She feels responsible to find out what is happening to these girls (whether it's in her job description or not), and try to stop the killer from striking again. That becomes a little difficult when she encounters twist and turns, and people from her pop star days come back into her life.
This mystery has a mix of romance, action, and murder! This book left me hanging on every word and I couldn't put it down. I'm definitely going to be reading the next book (Size 14 Is Not Fat Either) in the Heather Wells mysteries series.I give this book a 5 out of 5!
